Natural History Museum New York

The scene of the first movie “Night at the Museum,” Museum of Natural History in New York has more than forty-five exhibition halls that explore different aspects of the natural world, from the evolution of different kinds of animals to the human origins.

Popular exhibits at the Museum of Natural History:

The Milstein Hall of Ocean Life, where you can watch an impressive model of a blue whale 94 feet long.

The Natural History Museum houses the most complete collection of vertebrate fossils, including two exhibitions of dinosaur fossils which are very popular with visitors.

The Arthur Rose Hall of Meteorites where you can see the Cape York meteorite, the world’s largest exhibition and weighing 34 tons (the reinforcements from their supports are based on the underground rock strata that holds the foundation of the Museum.)

The Butterfly Conservatory, where you can walk among more than 500 butterflies flying free in the conservatory.

The Rose Center for Earth & Space Museum is part of Natural History in New York and includes exhibition halls on the planet Earth and the mysteries of the universe. The Star Trek show in the Hayden Planetarium, narrated by Whoopi Goldbgerg offers space image is never seen before and simulations that explore the life cycle of stars in our galaxy.

The museum has an application compatible with iPhones and iPod Touch that allows your way around the halls of the same and that provides more information on some of the exhibits. The application is free and can download it from iTunes or the AppStore.
