Events in New York

Lunar New Year

Celebrate the Year of the Snake during the Chinese New Year festival in Chinatown this weekend. The parade takes place on Sunday at 1pm. During the parade (and before and after) there will be lots of performances, food vendors, and more to check out. Have fun

St. Patrick's Day Parade

If you're in New York City you have the opportunity to see the biggest and most famous parade in the city. The parade starts at 11am on 5th Avenue at 44th Street and continues to march uptown to 79th Street. It ends around 4:30-5pm. No big floats or balloons, just good old fashion marchers and bands, celebrating Irish culture. And on St. Patrick's Day, everyone is Irish.

Valentine's Day Tango Lessons

Valentine's Day is right around the corner so it's time to start making plans. Dinner is always great, but what about trying something new, like tango lessons! On February 13 and 14 Argentine tango workshops are being offered at the Triangulo Studio. The cost in advance is $110 per couple or $125 at the door and includes tango lessons, champagne, roses, and chocolate covered strawberries all in a romantic setting. So get your dancing shoes on and try something new for Valentine's Day.

Hoboken Arts & Music Festival

If you want to get out of Manhattan for the day but don't want to go too far, Hoboken is having their semi-annual Arts & Music Festival this Sunday. Browse or even buy some arts and crafts, listen to live music, taste some local food. If you have the kids there's a special children's section with rides, games, and crafts on 3rd Street.
